Season 5 Wish List

This was the summary of the S5 Wish List thread which sprang up on the NG in December 2000 and ran for several weeks.

Things we would like to see in Season 5:

Team! Team! Team! Team! Team!

Jack and Daniel being together a lot. (Fire regulations may have to be broken but that can't be helped. PDL to stand by with a bucket of water in case of danger to crew members.)

SG-1 going off world through the Stargate to other planets with trees. A lot.

More Jack and Daniel scenes. Lots of Jack and Daniel scenes. We cannot have too many Jack and Daniel scenes. (Clothes optional.)

Nasty Goa'uld doing bad things to SG-1.

SG-1 working as a team to overcome nasty Goa'uld doing bad things to them. This should include some really well choreographed action sequences (such as in The Nox).

SG-1 all caring about each other like a family.

Proper follow through on traumatic events. No more stressing them out or casual murdering of lovers/friends/relatives with no comfort given afterwards.

A Jack and Daniel 'Solitudes'. Expect major sulking if we don't get this one. Seriously, people are going to get pissy…

Good science.

Good plotting. (No zat'arcs.)

Original storylines. (No more borrowing from movies.)

Good dialogue.

Jack being *Jack*, ie. An intelligent, compassionate, impatient, stubborn, maddening Air Force colonel with Special Ops training, who has unexpected depths, great taste in clothes, is smokin' hot, and is nice to Daniel.

Teal'c striding about magnificently, preferably carrying a staff weapon, saying things in a husky voice, never having to be a comedy alien, and being nice to Daniel.

Sam getting to kick some butt and be a soldier. Sam not having to spout technobabble or be a wuss in any dimension. Sam to be excused being engaged/married to Jack duty in all dimensions until further notice. Sam being nice to Daniel.

Daniel being part of the team, allowed to join in action scenes, and not being sent off to play with Other Characters all the time.

Jack going alpha male in defense of his team, preferably while carrying an MP-5.

Daniel getting to rescue the others.

Sam and Janet getting to rescue the others. (While carrying big guns.)

More Janet.

More General Hammond.

More Major Davis. (Clothes optional.)

More Jacob.

More Bra'tac.

(All of the above should be encouraged to be nice to Daniel.)

Martouf to be resurrected so he can be nice to Sam. (Clothes optional.)

Kawalsky to come back from an AU for at least one episode in which he should be nice to Daniel. (Clothes optional.)

More Apophis. (Unlikely we're going to be able to get him to be nice to Daniel.)

Jack angsting over Daniel as much as possible. This should involve at least some hair stroking, and 'Danny's. Hugs would be nice too.

Lots of hurt/comfort/angst/friendship/bonding/caring bits.

Some recurring SG teams/people who aren't just cannon fodder. (Bring back Makepeace!)

More exploration of relationship between Sam and Teal'c.

More exploration of relationship between Daniel and Teal'c.

Hunky male Goa'uld eyeing Daniel up in front of Jack. (Okay, I'm actually the only one who wants this but I want it a *lot* so it should still count.)

More adventurous methods of story telling. Not all narratives to be linear. Go on, be experimental. You know you want to.

More adventurous direction.

More dark and interesting subtext.

Return of the Nox.

Return of the Tollan.

Return of the Asgard.

Return of Skaara.

Return of Osiris.

Return of Nirrti.

Furlings to make an appearance.

Ancients to make an appearance.

New Goa'uld with different Jaffa in different uniforms.

Lots of deathgliders for the boys.

More action scenes for the boys.

More follow through on existing Stargate mythology/themes/storylines.

Naked Jack.

Naked Teal'c.

Naked Sam.

Naked Janet.

Naked Major Davis. (For Lisa.)

Naked Martouf. (For Sam.)

Naked Anise. (For Ranger Bob.) (Pulse optional.)

Barefoot Daniel.

Barefoot Daniel in pajamas.

Viewers to be compensated for any bad scripts by appropriate amounts of skin shots. Female (and some male) viewers to be compensated for *really* bad scripts by scenes of naked Jack and Daniel in the shower together. Male (and some female) viewers get Sam and Janet in wet t-shirts eating ice cream in a suggestive way. (Hey, no one said life was fair.)
